Grab your costumes, gather your little monsters, and get ready to experience one of York County’s favorite fall traditions! The Annual Red Lion Halloween Parade is marching into downtown Red Lion on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, and promises plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family.

Whether you’re bringing the kids to see the creative floats, cheering on the Red Lion High School Marching Band, or simply looking for an excuse to enjoy a little Halloween magic, we’ve got your guide to making the most of parade night — including where to park, where to snag a great viewing spot, and where to grab something yummy to eat!

🎃 Parade Day Detail

  • When: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM
  • Where: Downtown Red Lion, Pennsylvania
  • Theme: Small-Town Halloween Magic & Community Spirit
  • Rain or shine: The parade goes on!
  • Route: Begins on Horace Mann Avenue (near the High School), moves down South Main Street, turns onto West Broadway, continues onto South Franklin Street, across Boundary Avenue, onto South Charles Street, and turns onto Fairview Street before ending in the Horn Field Parking Lot.

Pro Tip: A little planning goes a long way! Streets along the parade route begin closing at 6:00 PM and will be fully closed by 6:30 PM. Arriving early will help you avoid the traffic tricks and enjoy all the Halloween treats.

🚗 Where Should You Park?

The secret to a stress-free parade night? Get there early and park a few blocks away from the action. Downtown streets will be busy and major roadways will shut down before 6:30 PM, so leave yourself plenty of time to walk to your viewing spot.

Here are a few areas to consider:

  • Residential Side Streets: Look for  on street parking a block or two off the main route — such as along East Broadway, East High Street, or side avenues running parallel to South Main Street. Always respect private driveways and local borough restrictions.
  • Horn Field Area: On street park near Horn Field is a great option for families planning to watch near the end of the route, making it easier to beat the traffic once the final float passes.

🚫 Important Parking Reminder: Parking is NOT permitted at Horn Field itself, as the field is used for parade staging and destaging. Please plan to park on nearby streets where parking is permitted.

👀 The Best Places to Watch the Parade

Not all parade spots are created equal! Whether your family loves being in the middle of the action or prefers a little extra elbow room, here's where to consider setting up camp.

🥁 Main Street & The Square — Right in the Action

If you love the energy of a big crowd, South Main Street near the Square is the place to be. You'll be right in the heart of town with maximum parade-day excitement. The trade-off? This popular area gets packed quickly, so arrive well before 6:00 PM to claim your space.

🏡 West Broadway & S. Franklin Street — Cozy Neighborhood Vibes

Prefer a slightly more relaxed environment? Head along West Broadway or South Franklin Street. These residential stretches offer a nice balance of great parade views and extra elbow room for kids to spread out their lawn chairs and blankets.

🏁 Fairview Street & Horn Field — Catch the Final Floats

Set up toward the end of the route along Fairview Street near Horn Field. This area tends to be less crowded than the Square, making it a great choice for families with toddlers who want a quick walk back to the car as the parade disbands.

A few viewing tips for families:

  • Bring folding chairs or a warm blanket.
  • Pack layers — late October evenings in York County get chilly quickly!
  • Bring flashlights or glow sticks so little ones stay visible in the dark after sunset.
  • Bring trick-or-treat bags or buckets for all the candy handed out along the route.
  • Choose a meeting spot in case your group gets separated.
  • Be considerate of other spectators and keep sidewalks clear.
