By Sarah Frane Macaroni Kid York October 20, 2026

HalloBoo! 2026 is getting bigger and better as Dover Recreation partners with Dover Area High School and the Class of 2028 to combine its annual HalloBoo! celebration with the DAHS Trunk or Treat.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, and head to the new event location at Dover Area High School for an evening filled with Halloween excitement!

Organizers expect more than 600 little ghosts, goblins, and costumed characters to join the fun. From Marios and Luigis to Sonics, Harry Potters, and Rumis, there's sure to be plenty of creativity on display as families come together to celebrate the season.

One of the highlights of the event is the Trunk or Treat competition! Participating families, individuals, student groups, and businesses or organizations can decorate their trunks for the occasion. Attendees get to vote for their favorites, with the top vote-getters in each category earning the coveted Golden Pumpkin trophy. It's a fun way to show off Halloween creativity while bringing the community together.

And what's Halloween without a few tasty treats? Several food trucks are confirmed for the event, including Brickers French Fries, Farm Show Milkshakes, Food Adventures, The Popcorn Loft, and East Coast Eatery. Come hungry and enjoy some delicious bites while taking in the festivities!

HalloBoo! also offers local businesses and organizations a great opportunity to connect with the community and get involved in a popular family-friendly event.

The event is made possible with support from sponsors Covenant Insurance and JABM Entertainment.
